I'm in the process of setting up XenDesktop 7.6 for RemotePC use, and experiencing issues with Citrix ICA Service not starting on the client when it's powered on. The problem is intermittent and works 50% of the time.
Apr 30, 2013 Spiceworks doesn't have a lot of Citrix admins in it, however I've taken the dive. If the application is not starting I We have some users logging into 1 particular Citrix server and when they open an application they never start. Home > Software > Citrix. Citrix is not opening applications for some users. By MFarazK on Apr 22, 2013 at 12.
When the ICA service fails to start, Windows records an event in the Event Logs 'Access to the path is denied' (see attached screen shot), and Citrix Studio shows the PC's Registration State as 'Initializing'. The only way to get the PC to register is start the ICA Service and restart the Citrix Desktop Service on the client.
What I've done so far to troubleshoot is:
-Removed all antivirus applications
-Issue is not localized to one PC but all (Something in our SOE causing the problem?)
-Event Logs shows 'ICA Service failed to start (Access to the path is denied.).' (see attached)
-Enabled logging on Broker Agent and ICA Service (see attached)
-Ensured all .Net Framwork folders under have correct permissions applied
-Ensured all Program filesCitrix folders under have correct permissions applied
-Issue only occurs at PC boot. If the PC is left switched on, you can connect remotely at any time fine.

I don't know what else to try... Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!
21 Jan Windows had some major updates. From that day Citrix Receiver doesn't work anymore. Meaning that launch, ica is stored on the hard drive and the file association with Citrix Connection Manager seems ok, but the launch.ica file doesn't start anymore. Even when clicking on it nothing happens.
In taskmanager a CD Viewer proces is started and taking up CPU. But nothing is happening.
On a laptop, even after the same Windows10 updates, it still works fine.
I tried several times to reinstall the latest Citrix Receiver (4.6). Even after running the Citrix Cleanup utility.
But it doesn't change a thing. it still doesn't work.
Anyone got any idea what can be causing this?
i haven't got a clue anymore..
Please help!
Thanks in advance.
